(138 UNITS)

The Civil Engineering B.S. + M.S., a blended program that shortens the time required to earn a B.S. and M.S., is for high-achieving undergraduate students who wish to deepen their technical knowledge and enhance their career prospects. It enables them to earn both degrees in as little as five years through a streamlined curriculum that integrates undergraduate and graduate coursework. Students begin taking graduate-level courses during their senior year of undergraduate study.

In addition, students have the opportunity to tailor their graduate coursework to specific focus areas within civil engineering, such as structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, or construction engineering and management.

In addition to the program requirements below, students must meet all other university requirements for the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Please consult the Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree section in this catalog for complete information. For university requirements regarding the master’s degree, please consult the Graduate Regulations section in this catalog for complete information.

General Education

All students at Cal State Fullerton are expected to complete prescribed units of general education that are made up of courses outside of their chosen disciplines. Students seeking a degree in Engineering have been provided exceptions from some of the general education requirements. For this reason, it is important that students take the approved general education courses for Engineering majors that are found in their Titan Degree Audit (TDA). Additionally, they should confirm the general education courses that are required within their specific programs with their respective advisers.
