Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The baccalaureate curriculum offers pre-licensure students and registered nurses with an associate degree in nursing (or its equivalent) an upper-division program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing. Graduates are eligible for certification as public health nurses in the State of California.
Once accepted into the program, students are required to have a clear criminal background check, current health insurance, current American Heart CPR certification for healthcare providers, meet the health requirements of the university and assigned clinical agencies, a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.
Pre-Licensure, Accelerated Pathway
The Accelerated B.S. in Nursing program is for students with bachelor’s degrees in other fields who are interested in pursuing a second bachelor’s in nursing. It provides students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for their professional and educational careers as nurses. The program prepares nursing generalists who can provide care within a framework of scientific and professional accountability, and who can function independently and interdependently in a variety of health settings. It lays the necessary foundation for graduate education and specialization, and promotes and fosters a commitment to lifelong learning for personal and professional growth.
