BIOL 317 - Field Marine Biology (4)


Field biology and natural history of local marine plants and animals. Identify common species and factors, determining their distributions and abundance in marine habitats. Effects of human activities on marine organisms. (2 hours lecture, 6 hours lab or fieldwork; weekend field trips may be required)

Prerequisites: Biology majors: BIOL 251  and BIOL 253L , or BIOL 273 ; BIOL 252  and BIOL 254L , or BIOL 274 . All other majors: BIOL 151  or BIOL 172 ; BIOL 152  or BIOL 171 ; BIOL 252  and BIOL 254L , or BIOL 274 . All prerequisites must be completed with a “C” (2.0) or better.
