MATH 337 - Introduction to Experimental Design and Statistics in the Laboratory Sciences (3)

Prerequisite: passing score on the ELM or exemption; BIOL 241, BIOL 261, CHEM 120, PHYS 211  or PHYS 225 . Graphical and numerical descriptive statistics; experimental design, randomization, replication, block designs, stratified samples, controlled experiments versus observational studies. Fundamental inference for proportions, means, variances. Analysis of variance, regression. Computer analysis of data from the laboratory sciences, e.g., biology, chemistry, geology.
