(51 UNITS)

The Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Social Sciences is a cohort-based, fully online degree completion program that allows students to fulfill their academic and career goals. Drawing on a variety of academic fields within the Humanities and Social Sciences, the program is grounded in interdisciplinary study and research that develops students’ communicative, collaborative and analytical skills, while expanding their knowledge of themselves and the world.

The program consists of 51 semester units (17 courses) so that students will graduate with 120 semester units. Students progress through the program with their cohort and finish in approximately three years – typically enrolling in two courses each term (Fall, Spring and Summer). The course schedule provides a non-accelerated pace for successful completion, making this program ideal for employed students.

The pilot program is offered only through Extension and International Programs  at a higher tuition rate.

Admission Requirements

As a degree completion program, students are required to have completed their lower-division general education requirements prior to admission. In addition, students must have earned 69 transferrable semester units to be admitted to the program. Students with at least 60 transferrable semester units, but fewer than 69, may be conditionally admitted into the program.

Study Plan

Each course is eight weeks in length. Because the program is cohort-based, students will not have the ability to select individual courses.
