(54 units)

The online Professional Business concentration is a degree completion program designed primarily for business professionals who plan to become effective managers dealing with processes and people. It is targeted to those wishing to gain a solid understanding of fundamental business disciplines. Students will be exposed to core elements of business and will be able to thrive in such careers as general management, international business, financial operations, general consulting and government. Students in this program prefer a general degree rather than specialized concentrations (accounting, finance, etc.). The program is offered only through Extension and International Programs at a higher tuition rate.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the online Professional Business Concentration program requires incoming students to have earned 66 transferable semester units from one or more community colleges or other accredited institutions and a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average; and be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended; or, have earned an AS or AA degree in business from a California community college. The 66 units should comprise CSU general education requirements and Cal State Fullerton lower-division business courses (listed below) or approved equivalents.

CSU-Approved General Education Courses (minimum 30 semester/45 quarter units)

General education requirements must include courses from the following categories (“Golden Four” requirements) and be completed with a “C” (2.0) or better:

  • Oral Communication
  • Written Communication
  • Critical Thinking
  • Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning

To see if courses from a particular community college will transfer to Cal State Fullerton, check ASSIST.org, a database that houses transfer agreements between all California community colleges and California public universities. Also contact the community college counseling center for assistance.
