MATH 406 - Introduction to Partial Differential Equations (3) First order linear and quasi-linear partial differential equations. Classification of second order linear partial differential equations. Fourier analysis, Sturm-Liouville theory, integral transforms and their application to boundary-value problems for the potential, wave, and diffusion equations.
Prerequisite: MATH 306 with a C (2.0) or better; or graduate standing.
