BIOL 303 - Intermediate Cell Biology (3)


Evidence-based examination of cells in action, roles of information, matter and energy flow as driving forces for compartmentation, protein sorting, metabolic and signaling pathways, motility and adhesion; examples taken from developmental, neural and cancer processes.

Prerequisites: Biology majors: BIOL 251  and BIOL 253L , or BIOL 273 ; BIOL 252  and BIOL 254L , or BIOL 274 ; CHEM 120B . Biochemistry majors: BIOL 151  or BIOL 172  ; BIOL 251  or BIOL 273 ; CHEM 120B . All other majors: BIOL 151  or BIOL 172 ; BIOL 152  or BIOL 171  ; BIOL 251  and BIOL 253L , or BIOL 273 ; CHEM 120B . All prerequisites must be completed with a “C” (2.0) or better.
