Anthropology Museum

The Museum of Anthropology is an educational and research resource for the university and the community. As a teaching museum, it features exhibits designed and installed by undergraduate and graduate students as part of Anthropology’s museum studies courses and as graduate thesis projects. Exhibits in the museum have included artifacts from California, the Middle East, Mesoamerica, the Southwest and Oceania, as well as varied topics ranging from tattoos to puppets.

Supporting students: Most of Campus Dining’s 200-plus employees are Cal State Fullerton students. Its locations are unique in working with student schedules and offering the ease of on-campus jobs, book loan program, meal discounts and more.

Benefit the university: As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization under the division of CSU Fullerton Auxiliary Services Corporation, on an annual and monthly basis a significant portion of Campus Dining’s net income is given back to the university for financial support of its mission. Dining on campus is an investment back into Cal State Fullerton.

Mobile ordering options at Campus Dining: Students, faculty and staff can order ahead on the Grubhub and Starbucks apps. Ordering ahead on Grubhub is available for Panda Express, Baja Fresh Express, The Fresh Kitchen, Togo’s, Hibachi-San, Pieology and Carl’s Jr. There are no extra fees when ordering ahead on the Grubhub app. Ordering ahead on the Starbucks App is available at all on-campus Starbucks locations, which include Starbucks at Pollak Library, Titan Student Union and the College of Business and Economics.

Clayes Performing Arts Center

Home to the School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance, the Clayes Performing Arts Center is an impressive state-of-the-art facility for performance, creation, production and instruction. Each year, the School of Music produces more than 300 student ensemble performances, guest and faculty artist recitals, master classes and clinics that take place in the 800-seat Vaughncille Joseph Meng Concert Hall, which has been lauded for its outstanding acoustics, and the Recital Hall. The Department of Theatre and Dance produces an annual season of plays, musicals and dance performances that take place in the Young Theatre, Hallberg Theatre and Little Theatre for the university and surrounding community. CSUF’s Department of Theatre and Dance is ranked as one of the best in the nation and is often represented at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and the American College Dance Festival. Visited by more than 40,000 community members annually, the Clayes Performing Arts Center nurtures the mind’s most vivid creations, realized through the skill and collaborative spirit of CSUF’s faculty members and students.

Cal State Fullerton’s Daily Titan is recognized as one of the best college newspapers in the United States. Daily Titan reporters, editors, photographers, videographers, designers and online producers have won dozens of awards from the Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Association, Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Society of News Design, Society of Professional Journalists, California News Publishers Association, Los Angeles Press Club and California College Media Association.

The Daily Titan is an independent student media outlet that publishes in print during the academic year. It also publishes at dailytitan.com and via social media. The Daily Titan serves an audience of more than 40,000 students plus thousands of faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and the public.

Daily Titan editorial staff members receive extensive hands-on experience in reporting, writing, editing, copy editing, photography, multimedia, web production and social media. Cal State Fullerton students also comprise the award-winning Daily Titan advertising staff. They promote the Daily Titan and design and sell ads that financially support its news and advertising operations.

Department of Theatre and Dance Productions

Cal State Fullerton’s award-winning Department of Theatre and Dance produces a full subscription season of exciting plays, musicals and dance theatre for the university and surrounding community. Additionally, showcases, devised theatre, cabarets, dance in non-traditional settings and class projects are just a few of the many low- to no-admission department performance events. The department’s participation in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and the American College Dance Festivals have showcased students at a national level, where they have been selected to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

The 26-acre Fullerton Arboretum is at the northeast corner of the campus and has a Level IV accreditation, making CSUF one of just seven universities in the world to hold an arboretum with the highest accreditation possible. The gardens feature plants from around the world, displayed in their native topography, with special emphasis on rare and endangered species.

Fullerton Arboretum is an urban arboretum that plays an instrumental role in connecting students, faculty and researchers in engaging academic experiences (research, internships, capstone projects and service learning) in all eight colleges at CSUF.

The mission of the arboretum is to support the academic mission of CSUF with a world-class living and historical collection and to provide learning opportunities for every stage of life, extending resources into the local community and around the globe to foster an appreciation for plant conservation, botanical research and horticulture. It accomplishes its mission through academically related partnerships, a robust E3 educational internship and fellowship program, and research collaborations that span the globe.

Through community education, K-12 outreach and an engaging visitor experience, Fullerton Arboretum offers life-long learning opportunities for individuals to learn about and value the natural environment and history of this region. It hopes not to only educate, but deepen the connection between people and the environment.

Grand Central Art Center

Grand Central Art Center is the result of a unique partnership between Cal State Fullerton and the city of Santa Ana. Located 10 miles south of the main Cal State Fullerton campus in the heart of downtown Santa Ana’s Artist Village, Grand Central Art Center is a mixed residential, commercial and educational complex. The art center is a 45,000-square-foot, full city-block long and half-block deep, three-level structure. It houses apartments and studio spaces for Cal State Fullerton graduate students, the Main Gallery, Education Gallery, Don Cribb Project Gallery, GCAC Project Wall, a pop-up retail space and the CSUF Grand Central Theatre. GCAC also has apartments and studio spaces dedicated to GCAC’s Artist-in-Residence initiative, which focuses on artists working in community-engaged practices centered on discovery, creative process, and relationships through an open collaborative and immersive approach. GCAC presents exhibitions, installations and performances by local, regional, national and international artists, exploring topics of social relevance through contemporary art practice.

MacFadden Herbarium

The MacFadden Herbarium is a scientific collection of dried plant specimens and is named after botanist Fay A. MacFadden, who sold her extensive collection of plants to the university in 1964. The collection now includes more than 25,000 dried vascular plant specimens, with a focus on plants from Western North America. The plants are used as research and teaching tools and are being digitized to be accessible online (https://cch2.org/). The herbarium is part of the Consortium of California Herbaria. The director and curator is Joshua P. Der, associate professor of biological science.

The Begovich Gallery serves as a nexus for critical thinking, discovery and participation. It is a division of the College of the Arts at Cal State Fullerton, where art, students, faculty and the community meet. It is committed to presenting exhibitions and programs that contribute to the experience of learning and understanding visual culture, regionally and globally.

Speech and Hearing Clinic

The Speech and Hearing Clinic is an integral part of the university’s curricular programs leading to a B.A. and M.A. in communicative disorders within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. It has been in operation since 1961 providing speech, language and hearing services to the community while simultaneously supporting the academic training of students pursuing careers in speech-language pathology and/or audiology. 

As part of their clinical training, graduate students enrolled in the Communicative Disorders Program provide speech-language and hearing services under the clinical supervision of highly qualified, licensed and certified speech-language pathologists. Undergraduate students in the Communicative Disorders Program must also complete a number of clinical observation hours within the clinic and regular classroom setting as part of their training.

The CSUF Speech and Hearing Clinic, which shares space with the Center for Children Who Stutter, a nonprofit organization, houses several therapy/observation rooms, clinical staff offices, and specialized clinic research and training labs where faculty and students work together on a variety of different clinical research activities. These labs include a Motor Speech Lab, Augmentative/Alternative Communication Training Lab, Speech Acoustics Lab, Voice Lab and Multicultural Resources Lab that contains training resources for working with culturally-linguistically diverse client populations. The clinic also has an Audiology Suite that can be used for assessing the hearing of clients receiving services within the clinic and as part of community outreach activities involving programs, such as the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Student Success Centers

Academic and Student Affairs have collaborated to create Student Success Teams in each of the Cal State Fullerton colleges and Office of Graduate Studies. The teams are groups of advisers dedicated to improving student learning, increasing graduation rates, reducing time to degree and narrowing the achievement gap among underrepresented students. Each of the teams provides students with information on individual academic, career and personal development. They include: academic advisers who supprt students to make progress and succeed in courses; a graduation specialist whose expertise is in supporting juniors and seniors nearing graduation; and college career specialists who are available to help students with career planning.

Located in Pollak Library South, Titan Communications is a comprehensive digital media production facility comprising Titan TV, Titan Radio and the TitanUniverse.org website. Titan Comm acts as a living, learning classroom that provides hands-on training opportunities and work experience, helping students to gain valuable knowledge outside of class. 

The media facility produces a wide range of TV, radio and online content through our student-led productions. Titan TV broadcasts to certain cable carriers throughout Orange County and Titan Radio is streamed worldwide online. Titan Universe acts as Cal State Fullerton’s Digital Media Hub, where students post news and pop culture articles. In addition to magazine-style, entertainment, sports and campus news programs produced by students, Titan Communications creates various internal and external university communications and training projects. 

When students get involved with Titan Communications, they discover many opportunities to develop creative and technical skills, gain practical hands-on experience and build digital portfolios in the communications field. This active learning environment provides students with the necessary tools to thrive in today’s challenging media job market. Students may work in Titan Communications on class or co-curricular projects, instructional-related activities, serve as volunteers or work as paid staff in connection with student media groups or commissioned projects.

Titan Shops is a division of CSU Fullerton Auxiliary Services Corp., a nonprofit auxiliary organization promoting and assisting the university community through services and support. Its mission is to provide one-stop shopping, excellent customer service and quality products at competitive prices.

The Course Materials Department is located on the second floor of Titan Shops and carries requested course material. Choose from new and used, or save up to 80 percent with digital and rental options. Students can compare prices on course material from their textbook list through the Titan Shops website and shop with confidence knowing that prices are backed with a price-match guarantee. Special orders can be done on any title at no extra charge. The Course Materials Department also offers printing and binding services for projects, theses and dissertations, and offers an interest-free payment plan for the purchase of course materials.

TitanTech and Supply provides art, office and school supplies, along with computer systems and software. As a Dell reseller and Apple Authorized Campus Store, TitanTech is able to offer students a complete line of products with a convenient location to explore and purchase the latest technology at discounted prices. TitanTech also offers a trade-in program and offers an on-site Apple and PC Certified Repair Center.

Titan Shops is the official supplier of CSUF apparel and gifts. Students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and fans can show their Titan pride in the latest from Nike, Champion, New Era, League and many more. Titan Shops also provides all graduation products from caps and gowns to class rings, diploma frames and announcements.

Titan Shops offers several convenience store locations for students on the go. These stores are stocked with test-taking materials, school supplies, health and beauty aids, and a wide selection of snacks and drinks. Visit the Titan Express in the main bookstore, The Brief Stop in Langsdorf Hall, or The Yum in the Titan Student Union. Additionally, Titan Shops provides two vending machines filled with last-minute test-taking material. These machines are located on the first floor of College Park and the second floor of Mihaylo Hall.

There are two bank branches located inside Titan Shops, US Bank and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, both which offer a full range of financial products and services.

The Writing Center provides tutoring for all students seeking assistance with specific writing assignments or with improving their writing in general. Tutors offer individual appointments and special-topic workshops designed to help students write clear, concise academic prose. Tutors also work with students on developing techniques for improving their grammar usage and editing skills. The goal of the Writing Center is to increase students’ writing competence in both their current and future university classes.
