Bienestar Social Work with Latinx Certificate

The Bienestar Social Work with Latinx certificate is for CSUF Master of Social Work students interested in using their social work skills to promote the well-being of the Latinx population at the individual, community and policy levels. Through specialized courses and field placement, students develop bicultural and bilingual competencies that help prepare them to work in a culturally responsive way with the Latinx community.

Admission Requirements
Students may indicate their intention to apply for the Bienestar Social Work with Latinx certificate when applying for admission to the MSW program. Students can also declare their intention to pursue the certificate after admission if they have maintained continuous enrollment in the MSW program. In addition, they need to declare their interest before the application period for the second-year field placement process begins. If the student leaves the MSW program, readmission is required to pursue the certificate.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Bienestar Social Work with Latinx Certificate, students must fulfill the following: - Be concurrently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA or better in both programs.
- Can engage in conversational-level Spanish.
- MSW degree must be conferred in the same semester as certificate completion.
