(120 UNITS)
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering (General) provides students with skills and knowledge in a wide range of engineering disciplines in order that they contribute and grow in their intended engineering profession. The program is structured so that students are engaged in opportunities to work with faculty and students in multiple engineering disciplines, and train to synthesize and analyze complex interdisciplinary systems that are vital in modern society. It provides students with a modern education that can easily be applied in the industry after graduation.
In addition to the requirements for the major, students must meet all other university requirements for a bachelor’s degree. Please consult the Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree section in this catalog for complete information.

Degree Requirements
Students must meet with their academic adviser to prepare an approved study plan of technical elective courses prior to taking such courses. In addition, 3 units of the upper-division writing requirement can be satisfied by taking a university-approved upper-division writing course or set of courses in engineering programs that satisfy this requirement. Undergraduate students are required to meet with their academic adviser every semester during the first year and at least once a year thereafter. They are strongly encouraged to see their academic advisers frequently.
All courses taken in fulfillment of the degree must be taken for a letter grade. All mathematics and physical science courses required for the degree must be completed with a “C” (2.0) or better to count as prerequisite courses to engineering courses, or as credit towards the degree. Graduate courses are not open to undergraduate students without approval of the department chair.
Engineering Core Courses (21 units)
Mathematics and Science Courses (33 units)
Additional Information
* CHEM 120A may be taken in lieu of CHEM 123
** PHYS 227L may be added to the degree requirement only if necessary. If taken, the total units in Additional Engineering and/or Computer Science courses section (below) will be adjusted by one unit
Additional Engineering and/or Computer Science Courses (39 units)
Students need approval of their adviser in choosing appropriate technical courses within the College of Engineering and Computer Science. At least 30 units must be 300- or 400-level courses.
Students must meet with their academic adviser to prepare an approved study plan of technical elective courses prior to taking these courses.
Upper-Division Writing Requirement (3 units)
General Education
All students at Cal State Fullerton are expected to complete prescribed units of General Education that are made up of courses outside of their chosen disciplines. Students seeking a degree in Engineering have been provided exceptions from some of the General Education requirements. For this reason, it is important that students take the approved G.E. courses for Engineering majors that are found in their Titan Degree Audit (TDA). Additionally, they should confirm the G.E. courses that are required within their specific programs with their respective advisers.
