Bachelor of Arts in Theatre
The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre provides the opportunity for students to focus on the breadth of theatre studies. The curriculum core requires study in acting, directing, design and production, history, literature and theatre criticism. Students are required to participate in department production activities, including plays, musicals, dance and opera.
In addition to the requirements for the major, students must meet all other university requirements for a bachelor’s degree. Please consult the Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree section in this catalog for complete information.
Students must take THTR 110 to fulfill G.E. Category A.I.

Additional Information
* First-time freshman must take 5 units of THTR 278B or THTR 478B . Transfer students may transfer over 2 units of Production THTR 278B and must take 3 units of THTR 478B
** Transfer students who transfer in a directing course are required to take THTR 370B

The Directing concentration prepares students for a career in directing plays and musicals. The curriculum core requires study in acting, directing, design and production, history, literature and theatre criticism.
