The baccalaureate curriculum offers pre-licensure (non-RN) students and registered nurses (RN with an associate degree in nursing or its equivalent) a program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Graduates are eligible for certification as public health nurses in the State of California.

Several pathways are available towards completing the BSN: pre-licensure (Traditional BSN, Upper-Division Transfer BSN, LVN-BSN, Accelerated BSN, Concurrent Enrollment Program - CEP); and post-licensure (RN-BSN). The BSN is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and graduates of the pre-licensure pathways are eligible to test for their California RN license.

Prior to admission, students are required to complete a criminal background check. Traditional BSN pathway students must maintain a CSUF cumulative 3.0 GPA or better before beginning nursing major coursework.

In addition to the requirements for the major, students must meet all other university requirements for a bachelor’s degree. Please consult the Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree section in this catalog for complete information.
