The minor in Aging Studies is a 21-unit specialty program designed to complement any major on campus. Students in the minor study the process of aging, including physiological changes, social roles, normative expectations, attitudes and beliefs, stereotypes, policy, health and economic issues. Given the rapidly aging population, there is growing need for personnel trained in the diverse applications of aging. A minor in Aging Studies specifically prepares students interested in obtaining a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from CSUF, and more generally, increases job marketability in various professions, including health, education, engineering, business, human services, counseling and many more.
