(12 UNITS)

The Minor in Economics  provides a foundation in economic decision-making, economic policy analysis and resource allocation in a world of scarcity. The program is highly customizable, allowing students to tailor their studies to align with their personal and career interests. It is designed to: expand the knowledge of non-economics majors who want to learn how economics impacts their field of study; equip students with skills in demand for careers in public policy, consulting and economic data analysis; and prepare students for graduate programs in economics, business administration, public administration, public policy and related fields.

It is recommended that students in the Colleges of Business and Economics, Engineering and Computer Science, and Natural Sciences and Mathematics take ECON 201 , ECON 202  and the Quantitative Economics electives.

To satisfy the minor requirements, students must earn a “C” (2.0) or better in each lower-division course and complete 12 units distinct from their major. Courses may not also be used to satisfy the CBE Global Business Requirement, but may be used to fulfill GE requirements. Corequisites for minor courses are waived.
