The Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology is an interdisciplinary program housed within the College of Education and draws upon a team of outstanding faculty with expertise, training and experience in instructional technology, design and educational practice with applications for teaching, learning, training and curriculum development. It is a highly ranked comprehensive, high-quality, affordable program backed up with strong administrative support.
The 21-month program includes 100 percent online coursework and promotes collaboration, professional networking and team-building among peers, faculty, staff and other professionals.
Graduates of the program will gain valuable knowledge and skills in developing, designing, evaluating and implementing a wide variety of instructional technologies applicable to a wide range of training and learning settings (K-12, postsecondary education, military, business/industry). Furthermore, graduates will obtain expertise in the enhancement of teaching and learning based on sound and current educational research, theory and practice, and will be well-positioned as a professional in a competitive job market in educational or business/corporate settings. An active alumni association provides mentoring opportunities while in the program, and professional networking upon completion (ed.fullerton.edu/msidt/alumni).
The Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology (MSIDT) program is designed to prepare professionals who wish to further their skills and education in instructional design at the national and international levels. Graduate students learn to use emerging technologies for teaching, learning, training and curriculum development. Graduate students develop skills in project management, learning management systems, collaboration, written communication, technology enabled media literacy, research, critical thinking and problem solving. The MSIDT Program is fully online and provides a cohort structure that enhances the student-centered community of learners. It also includes two orientation meetings where students meet classmates, faculty, determine research agendas and collaborate. A challenging and rigorous educational environment provides graduate students with faculty mentoring and professional networking by a vibrant active Alumni Chapter Association.
