Bachelor of Science in Public Health*

The Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health prepares students for careers across a broad spectrum of health-related careers, as well as for those who seek quality preparation for advanced study. Through required coursework, students develop skills and knowledge in environmental health, epidemiology, health systems, program planning, and data analysis and research. 

The degree requires 48 units in the major, all of which must be completed with a “C-” (1.7) or better, and must be taken on an Option 1 (letter grade) basis.

The B.S. in Public Health, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Concentration encompasses those responsibilities of scientists working in various settings to help ensure a healthy and safe environment. Students learn to identify hazards, measure exposure to hazards, evaluate hazards and recommend procedures to reduce risks resulting from these exposures.

Additional Information

* California State University, Fullerton is conditionally authorized to change the degree title of the Bachelor of Science in Health Science to a Bachelor of Science in Public Health effective fall 2018. This conditional authorization will remain in effect until September 30, 2019. Permanent authorization to offer a B.S. in Public Health is contingent upon the CSU Chancellor’s Office final approval.
