BIOL 477 - Advances in Biotechnology (3)

Current topics in biotechnology centering on techniques for molecular cloning and DNA sequencing of genes. Medical breakthroughs for diagnosis of mutations and gene therapy. Role of biotechnology in agriculture, energy and environment. Bioethical issues. (BIOL 477 and CHEM 477 are the same course.)

Prerequisites: completion of lower-division biology core. Corequisite: BIOL 412 , CHEM 421  or CHEM 423B .
